PERIWINKLE WEAVERS

A weaver takes strands of various fibers and organizes them to create patterns of all kinds. Just a few colors may be chosen or a multitude of hues.

I learned the art of weaving from Michael Patterson, Master Weaver, soon after retiring from a career managing a school of the arts. I found great pleasure in choosing the colors and acquiring the skill to make beautiful fabric. After a while a friend said; “You should sell your work." I didn't think anyone would want to pay money for my products, but they did! Thus, Periwinkle Weavers was born.

I offer:

• Shawls in many colors and patterns, which can be wrapped around you for warmth and comfort.
• Fabric for vests and jackets
• Tote bags with outside pockets
• Tiny bags as fashion accessories, which hold a cell phone, credit cards, and other small necessaries
• Scarves of silk
• Other items from time to time

I work mainly from individual orders. This allows you to:

• To discuss what you wish for, and plan a project
• Choose your own colors
• Describe special needs (i.e. Bar/Bat Mitzvah shawl, Wedding shawl...)
• Select the type of fiber you wish such as silk, wool, cotton or linen
• Know exactly how long it will take to complete your hand–woven item
